I really liked the rich gold colour of the leaf in this photo. The light was streaming through breaks in the trees to hit this leaf just right.

I can't explain it, but for some reason these three stumps just fascinated me. When I converted the image to B&W it quickly became one of my favorites. I guess there is no accounting for taste!

Morris Island is my second favorite local nature area, but it is not as accessible as Mer Bleue in the winter. This first part of the walk is navigable, but once you get about 150m down this path the tree line disappears and the snow drifts start to appear. It quickly becomes tiring breaking through the snow cap to make trail. Still, I am very fortunate to have areas such as these that I can explore and I do leave a small donation each time I visit.
