Since Spring won't come to me (it was minus 15C here today with the wind chill) I went to Spring. The Niagara Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls is a must visit for anyone who loves nature. I look forward to posting more butterfly pictures over the coming days.

I used my flash while visiting the Niagara Falls Butterfly conservatory yesterday, but after an hour or so the cycle times increased to where I was sometimes taking frames with ambient light only. This photo was taken with only light streaming through the foliage and hitting the butterfly just right. Sometimes you just get lucky :)

As I packing up the car with my photo equipment to leave Morris Island I noticed this butterfly on a flower in the parking lot. It danced all around the flower giving me several different compositions before it took off.

I can't see enough of this butterfly to identify its type, perhaps someone else can? I liked the flowing line of this plant to I waited at this spot for different butterflies to land and took several nice frames from this location.

I loved how the colour of the vine reflects back onto the butterfly, adding colour to its wings and body. I also loved the vertical line on which the butterfly and the flower sit.
