The Rideau Canal in Ottawa holds the record for the worlds longest skating rink with 7.8 of its 220 kms available for skating during the winter.

It was cold and damp this weekend with our first dusting of snow, so I spent a couple of hours wandering around inside the house looking for things I could light up with a flash.

While driving the back roads of Eastern Ontario I came across this pair of horses foraging for their lunch. It was snowing heavily so they had a ways to go to get to the grass underneath.

I had to use a long lens because they were a fair distance away. I spent about 15 mins trying different angles. They were beautiful animals and I enjoyed the time spent with them.
