Analog photo of the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, N.C. This is at once a tourist mecca and a working general store, a huge, rambling, multi-floor indoor mall. Contextual digital photos at

www.flickr.com/photos/botetourt/9123613450/ Shot for a Day in a Roll / A Roll in a Day project on windows and doors. 2013.06.20 Roll in a Day / A Day in a Roll These shots were June 2013’s assignment for the Roll in a Day / Day in a Roll group I’ve been shooting film with for the past year. This month’s assignment was windows and doors and as usual I used the occasion as an excuse for an expedition -- one that took me in a day about 225 miles through three states -- Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina -- through sun, clouds, rain, fog, sun and more rain. I chose a midweek day off, June 20, for picture-taking. The camera was a Nikon N8008 with 24-50mm and 70-210mm AFNikkor lenses. The film was some kind of generic 400 ISO color film from CVS pharmacy. In addition to the detail shots, which were made on film, I also in a number of cases shot digital photos to enhance the shots' context. In the 2013.06.20 Roll in a Day / A Day in a Roll set they are tagged DGTL in the file name.
