Have you truly experienced the enormity of the night sky?
Photographing the night sky, with its billions of stars and expansive universe, offers a profound experience that connects you to something greater than yourself. It is a humbling reminder of the vastness and wonder that lie beyond our daily lives. It invites us to explore, appreciate, and preserve the magnificence of what's around us.
I took this shot on our recent Bisti Badland adventure. I still remember the first time I saw this crazy rock formation over a decade ago. Each time I see it, I can't help but think about the the processes of geological activities, erosion, and weathering that must have occurred to create its unique formation. I can't wait to go back and see it again in 2024!

Thank you for all the kind comments on my recent long exposure bear image. In this "classic" shot, I was super excited to have this bear's face and mouth turned towards me. And the salmon was in just the right spot. This is actually a rare occasion because the primary jumping point for the salmon is on the other side of the bear. Most images of bears fishing at these falls are side profiles of the bears' faces.
This image was possible partly due to good luck but also due to the advances in camera technology. With 20-30 frames per second, I was able to capture the pivotal moment when the fish was right between the teeth
