The Swiss are able to fully modernise a major station and retain the original overall roof! My first railway images after arrival before we set off south towards the Berner Oberland.

The 1732 Bern to Thun peak hour working was still 'banger' stock in 2007. Nice to see a decent length set of conventional stock near Kiesen.

My May 2007 trip Switzerland was mainly BLS based on the Kandersteg route, but we arrived a Basel, so did a few shots on the first afternoon near Kiesen, just north of the Berner Oberland, which had plenty of very heavy cloud that day. So best to keep on the low ground. My third trip with the D200, so early images on the wrong basic settings.
