This view shows the site of the former Barrow Road engine shed in Bristol, which closed on November 20th/21st 1965. It was latterly coded 82E, and was the final steam shed in Bristol.
The photographs which made up this shot were taken from the now-demolished Barrow Road viaduct.
Days Road ran along the left, and crossed the trackbed (shown by the ballast) on a bridge (which is just visible).
Work was underway on demolishing the two gas holders.

This shows what was then a Wagon Repair Depot. Ths shot was taken from the now-demolished Days Road bridge, a narrow affair with a tight curve at one end. The tracks shown disappearing under the bridge were formerly the LMS main line to the north. Behind my back to my right, was the site of Barrow Road engine sheds. Taken in the early 1980s.
