For about a week, the travelling Chinese Opera troupe slept under their temporary theatre. It's a crawl space with a 3 foot ceiling at it's highest point. With the sweltering 35C weather everyday, their bedrooms are as comfortable as a sauna.

Tea time

The musicians invited me for tea between performances. The travelling Chinese Opera troupe lived in the three foot crawl space under the temporary theatre. It was hot, humid and poorly ventilated. But when comes to tea time, none of that matters, cup after cup of boiling hot tea from their home town is what cools the souls.
