I think I have now used this space too many times!
I'm feeling a tension between wanting to create some manipulations like this one and doing simpler more monotoned work! I guess I'll have to do both and double time it.

This is, of course, a photo featuring myself and Miss Aniela. I dragged her out of bed at 5am today, woot! We are filming our whole day, from the 5am wake up, to the shooting we did this morning, some of the editing, driving, going to PhotoLA, etc!
We are off now to PhotoLA to meet people and look at art! It has been really nice meeting flickr people! SO many people have asked us if we are sisters, as if the difference in accent isn't a dead giveaway...

Turned comments off here since this is a concept I've done before, but I wanted to share regardless because I did like it! I did this at my workshop on Saturday - super incredible group of people. I was touched by everyone that day. They encouraged me to go with an underwater theme here and it was so much fun to create :-D
For the workshop I went out and got laminate wood flooring and wallpaper. I was telling the wallpaper man that I was using it for a photo, and he told me that he supplied the wallpaper for Murder, She Wrote for all those years the show was running. I have to email him this picture since he was quite keen to see the final product.
Thank you so much for viewing, I appreciate it very much.

I took this picture in Washington on the day when I went to the rain forest, and after my Seattle workshop the day before. This was our last stop on a day when we went to the civil war re-enactment, the rain forest, an abandoned house, Forks (where Twilight is based), and then here. The beach had HUGE trees washed ashore from the ocean. They were all white and cracked and looming like a sign of the world's end. I decided on the spot that I had to create a picture there, because to not photograph it would be very sad indeed. Even more important than having that photograph though is the feeling that stays with me when I think about being there...it was both beautiful and tragic at the same time, a combination of emotions that stirs something deep within me.

Some brief announcements -
1) I am having collaborative workshops with Miss Aniela on November 1st and November 6th, and a couple spots are still available! Email me to sign up (info@brookeshaden.com), or check this blog post to read about it! We are both really excited to meet each other, collaborate, and teach.
2) I will be exhibiting at and attending the launch party for Blue Canvas Magazine issue #6 tonight, in which I am a featured artist. They will also be selling calendars which this photo is in. This photo was inspired by that one :)
