Went out in the rain today looking for some Thrushes. At the end of one of my regular haunts I noticed a Pygmy Owl sitting on a telephone wire above me. I drove past him and flipped around and waited in my car to see what he might do. I watched patiently and saw him lean a couple times, then just like that he dropped down on the side of the hill in the grass. I didn't see him initially until I manually focused through the clutter. He saw me looking at him through my lens and he hopped up giving me a proud show of the prize! Click for large view.
