Sunset on the second night of our 10-day road trip and the only sun we saw for almost the entire time.
Gold Beach was our first stop along the coast of Oregon. The town sits at a dynamic spot where the Rogue River meets the ocean. Looking at this picture one might guess at the origin of the town's name, however it has nothing to do with golden sunshine, and everything to do with the hundreds of placer mines that used to extract gold along the Rogue River.
