I decided to hang out in the Bay Area for the weekend rather than make the drive home and back twice during the short Thanksgiving week. I had nothing to do, so I decided to drop in on Stanford University and poke about the campus. I chose early morning for my visit and was rewarded by having the corridors of the central quad all to myself--quite a rare occurrence. Suffice it to say there were quite a few photo opportunities.

Early morning on the Stanford Campus. There were no pesky bikes or tourists toodling about. It's rare when you can get a photograph of Stanford Chapel through the front archway, completely devoid of people.

A little autumn color in cahoots with some magical early morning light, lends an attractive illuminance to the backside of the Stanford Chapel.

Like my grandpa used to say, "sleep on it. Everything looks better in the morning."

Jersey Joe was hot to do a photoshoot at Stanford University, so we met at 5:30 AM on Saturday in order to get a drop on the tour buses that start arriving at 6:30 AM on the dot. Jersey Joe was in prime form. He showed wearing a neon pumpkin orange sweat shirt and was sporting a french beret perched backward on his formidable head.

I figured if orange was to be the theme of the day, so be it. These chubby cherubs caught my eye and I worked them up for Slider's Sunday.
