Over the years, I've visited at least fifteen of our National Parks, most of them out West. I'm always impressed how the park planners design the features required by us humans, to look amazingly like they're an outgrowth of the environment that is natural to the particular park.
Here, a bridge crossing the Virgin River fits the environment quite nicely--almost like it grew here naturally.

When you travel through the American Southwest you're continually confronted by stunning vistas--Cecil B. DeMille grand epic views. Zion National Park is no slacker where stunning views are concerned, but it also contains small pockets of natural elegance that can only be found by the observant hiker. These charming little vignettes are my favorite part of the Zion experience.

Looking back at Zion National Park from the east. This was the view. I remember thinking "what a beautiful land this is. I am blessed to live here." I just wish others saw the importance of keeping the world a clean and sustainable place. This is the future I wish for my children.
Happy Fence Friday everyone.

Zion National Park is full of timeless little scenes. Here, Aspen trees surround a small meadow just below the Narrows, aptly named because it is the narrowest spot in the canyon. I imagine this scene looked pretty much the same when the only visitors were the indigenous people and animals who originally occupied this land.
