This and the next few posts are of models where I never would ask them to do the pose but they just did it automatically and I took the picture anyway. It's what I call 'too modelly'. I absolutely don't have a problem with models doing what they're meant to do. They're just not the type of pictures I want to take. Still look good though.

Ultra rare pic of someone smiling. Because Betty was such a good mode and this was my very first shoot I found it all a bit intimidating. I desperately didn't want to waste her time with a bunch of pics by a guy with a camera. Betty was so good, I got more comfortable and confident each time I Iooked at a result on the back of the camera. Confident to the extent where I was even able to make her laugh. She wasn't laughing with me though. She was laughing at me. I was explaining to her that up until this point a lot of the pics I took were at night and I had developed a habit of holding my breath every time I pressed the button. I carried it through to this shoot and as a result was constantly out of breath. I still catch myself sometimes doing this today.

Golden gazes with Betty from August 2020. Another from my first ever shoot. While I was taking these and having a quick check on the back of the camera to see what they looked like I couldn't quite believe it... They looked alright. In fact, at the time, I remember thinking they looked good! I thought to myself, it can't be this easy? I've since realised it is NOT and this day was one of those Bellini days where light, location and model do all the work for you. I've said it before but Betty is such a pro that I think she made me look like someone who almost knows what they're doing.
