The roadway was being lowered under the railway bridge at Hockley prior to the introduction of the large fleet of Daimler Fleetline buses. A shuttle service was operated on route 7 between Ashingdon and Hockley using two lowbridge Leylands on hire from City Coachlines and new to Western Welsh. This view was taken at Ashingdon whilst waiting for a connecting bus from Southend.
