We have now cleaned up the old Olivetti and it works perfectly after a slumber of about 40 years. We URGENTLY need new ribbons.
I still have all the letters my parents wrote to me when I moved to England from Alexandria in 1953 to finish my schooling and the thrice-weekly letters my father wrote to me when I was at SomervilleCollEge,Oxford 1955-1959.
When my grandchildren, Alice {8} and James saw it, they exclaimed "Cool" .
This is what Alice wrote:
My name is Alice and I like to play on my typewriter at mumble's house. I have never used one of these before in my life! Since I was a baby I've always wanted to use one of these -since I was younger like when I was 3.
It's time for me to go now.
