(REPOST of my first Flickr upload in March 2007). King's College, University of Cambridge. Victorian Royal Mail letterbox outside the college. Flickr Explore: March 11, 2007 (date first posted).
My, how time passes. Six years ago this week I discovered Flickr. Rather abruptly I dropped my written "Cam Diary" and went visual. Somehow words became heavy and photos liberating and uplifting. You know, "A picture is worth a thousand words". It's been a very enjoyable journey. And a 'journey' it has been. You meet new people, see different things, learn and be inspired (even inspire, perhaps).
Most of all you discover yourself. That's what a journey does. It prods, "Who are YOU?"
I found that I quite like abstracts, geometry is magic, that a well composed photo tickles me, that negative space is not negative, that less is more, people matter, your beloved (be it a place, person or interest) is always with you, and then there is LIGHT. You just have to SEE. Open your eyes and behold the beauty around you. Share it. Sorry, got carried away there:-)
CAMBRIDGE. What can I say? Words fail. Photos speak.
Anyway, thank you to everyone here. The comments, faves, and testimonials mean a lot. I've had a little period away from this account, but I think I may become more regular:-) There may be changes to reflect my new interests. And that's fun: change and discovery. There's lots to learn.
