No need for neutral density filter in the cascade mountain, the rain cloud does well. Rain or shine (more rain now) you can't stop taking pictures in Washington, because of cloudy gray rainy days (4 ..y's). You don't get much contrast but that is what post-production is for.

Actually I was going to go snowboarding, but the road was bad (by the time I would have been done, my car would be covered in snow)

US Forest Service gives a 90min snowshoeing tour for free with equipment (not really, they demand a $15 donation as they sign you up). I going to order my own snowshoes and will hit up other area later, aka Gold Creek lake.

The trees were boring, so I cropped it out, so only 40% of initial frame left (probably 10mp of the 24mp). I even AF focused on the trees. I didn't think the snow tracks were more interesting the the overall scene when I took this. After pixel peeping I thought it was cool. Lucky the DR (dynamic range) was still good (sony sensor).
