I stepped out of the most amazing photo gallery/shop I had ever been in after viewing 'silver halide/analog/darkroom production' prints of some of my favourite photographers (Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, Paul Caponigro, Elliott Erwitt, Annie Leibovitz, and so many more) and came upon this scene. The shop even had a Paul Strand print for sale (all of the prints were well beyond my price range - e.g., $28,000 for Ansel Adam's "Moonlight over Hernandez") and I immediately thought of Strand's "The White Fence" so I composed this as a homage.
It was quite inspiring to see prints of all of these artists 'up close and personal' rather than only seeing them in books or on my monitor via the internet. Yes, the prints are infinitely better!
