This is an unusual photo for me in at least two respects. I don't do people very often and I rarely manipulate images more than a contrast tweak and sharpening. He was a shy man and was uncomfortable when I took his photograph so out of respect I thought I should protect his identity and try and make it into a universal portrait. It's a stretch for me in any case and I suppose that is always a good thing to do from time-to-time?

A number of people have remarked in my recent posts on the 'quality' of light in Portugal as compared to other places and they are quite right. It is most certainly different than the light here at Keefer Lake ... noticeably 'intense' by comparison (there is probably a better descriptor than 'intense'?).
