The grape harvest is done and over with by now, but the remaining golden leaves sure are pretty. These vineyards are right outside my door, and it's my privilege to wander around among this golden sea.
And, as you can see, my macro lens perfectly doubles as a walk around, I love it!
As vindimas já lá vão, mas as folhas douradas são mesmo bonitas. Estas vinhas ficam à minha porta e é um privilégio poder "navegar" neste mar dourado, onde nascem as uvas que dão origem ao renascido Vinho de Carcavelos, produzido pela Câmara Municipal de Oeiras em parceria com o Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária. Os vinhos são produzidos na Adega do Casal da Manteiga e é na Adega do Palácio Marquês de Pombal que ficam a envelhecer.
E dá para ver que a minha objectiva macro serve perfeitamente para uso genérico, adoro-a!

In December of 2019 these olives were cut in a way that shocked me so much that I decided to shoot some video and inquire the municipality about the reason for such an extreme procedure. I never got an answer and the trees were left completely disfigured. Now, almost two years later, they have somewhat recovered, but are far from the healthy look they had back then. It really broke my heart and I can only hope that they grow back stronger than before.
Em Dezembro de 2019, estas oliveiras foram cortadas de uma forma que me chocou tanto que resolvi fazer um vídeo e perguntar ao município o motivo deste procedimento tão radical. Nunca recebi qualquer resposta e as árvores ficaram completamente desfiguradas. Agora, quase dois anos depois, já recuperaram um pouco, mas estão longe do aspecto viçoso que tinham então. Isso faz-me imensa pena e só espero que elas cresçam novamente mais fortes do que antes.
