Democratic Congressman Charles Rangel and Tom Kean, former Republican governor of New Jersey and chair of the 9/11 Commission, share a laugh before commencement ceremonies.

Two days, four graduation ceremonies. I'm exhausted, and a but sun-stroked. Graduation Week is too big for one guy, so we also hired an excellent freelancer and his assistant. Given that, I tried to shoot a little crazy, low-yield stuff that would look different than what they were getting. Case in point, turning the flash off in an extremely dark room.

The President speaks at commencement, framed against the Alma Mater statue's welcoming arms.

Even though I'm not posting full-size images, I am reconsidering the wisdom of posting material here before it's on the College's site. But here's one that, though I love it, we won't be publishing. At the big commencement, someone had the bad idea to place a giant ivy-covered railing in front of the podium, obscuring the seal, the name, and -- from most angles -- the people getting the awards. It was fun to see the photographers scrambling to angle around it, but I decided to work with it.
