Flower Girl #1 begins the day excitedly flipping through pages of a big book of Bible stories. She is a bundle of energy. One of the adults asks "Don't you ever sleep? Try just closing your eyes…"
She exclaims: "When I close my eyes, I see rainbows!"

They told the two-and-a-half-year-old flower girl to walk and throw flowers on the aisle -- and that's what she did. She just forgot about the part of doing them both at the same time. Fearful of the crowd, she threw all the petals at the top of the aisle, hovering until her father came to get her. Simply adorable.

It was an unseasonably gorgeous day, but the light was almost all gone by the time we were ready to get to the formals. Give up? Never! The trees near the waterfront were lit by giant tungsten spotlights, which gave them an interesting glow. Balanced for the low twilight, they look otherworldly.
The fill light was from my assistant Jolene. I modified the "light-on-a-stick" by putting a shoot-through umbrella on the monopod, giving a very mobile, soft light.

I just finished the wonderful wedding of Manda and Luke, held at the beautiful Waterview in Connecticut. Their wedding was the first truly pleasant day of the year around here, so I blame them for April's great weather.
