The troubles of the colonists. The male swan came to say goodbye to the female that died yesterday. This is his second deceased wife. Unfortunately, the situation was repeated in 2023, when shortly after successful mating and nest building the female died apparently from an infectious disease. Last year he found (won) a new mate, but nesting was not successful, and this year the female did not survive the most difficult breeding period.

New Aurora fast train (No 743У) connecting St. Petersburg with Moscow from the fall of 2024 is composed from seating duplex cars mainly with some of sleeping and reastaurant carriages. The first Aurora fast train has connected Leningrad (St Petersburg) with Moscow from 1963 till 2010. In 2024, TVZ produced a total of 25 Model 61-4492.02 car (five 1st class and twenty 2nd class cars, with 60 and 104 seats respectively). The cars of base model 61-4492 with seats have been in service on Russian Railways since 2015. In addition to these, the Aurora train also include Model 61-4465 cars with sleeping compartments (old named SV), a Model 61-4472 service car with spaces for disabled passengers, and a Model 61-4473 restaurant car. In 2003, Russian Railways signed a contract with Kolomna Locomotive Works, one of the oldest manufacturers of locomotives and diesel engines in Russia (Kolomna Kuibyshev Diesel Locomotive Plant) to create a new six-axle passenger DC electric locomotive with technical characteristics similar to ChS2T DC electric locomotives that had being built for USSR in Czechoslavakia. TEP70BS (ТЭП70БС), modernized version of Soviet TEP70 diesel passenger locomotive just developed by Kolomna Locomotive Works was chosen as the basis for the mechanical design. Electrical equipment was to be supplied by Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ) that already developed and producing EP1 AC electric passenger locomotive. Design was completed to 2005 simultaneously with the completion of certification of the TEP70BS. The bogie construction of the locomotive is similar to diesel counterpart in general but the fabrication process is different (for diesel locomotive is used welded but for electric - massive casted details), both have traditional Alstom design of primary suspension with diagonal link arms and coiled springs and secondary Flexicoil suspension by 4 pairs of coiled springs and in addition, the bogie of EP2K is connected to frame a the pair of massive traction rods. Collectror traction motors are used - ED153U1 manufactured by Elektrotyazhmash plant or DTC-800KSU1 manufactured by Smelyansky Electromechanical Plant, both motors 800 kW at 945 rpm. Locomotive have dynamic brake. From 2006 to present time (2025) were produced more 500 locomotives. From No 500 the model have new frontal design.
