Flickr Lounge: landscape

This creek bursts with life, and I love walking down to it. Fish swim in the water, and water striders run across it. I stood on that bridge an hour later and photographed a watersnake and a large frog. Behind the pile of fallen trees is a small offshoot where water collects into semi-isolated ponds. In those mini ponds I have photographed tadpoles, small crayfish, and more. If I turned to face the other way, I could show where I have photographed sapsuckers and gray squirrels. I would imagine this is a favorite hangout of raccoons when it gets dark and the people leave. Nearby are some lovely places for wildflowers and all the insects they draw. In fact, just over that logpile forget-me-nots are blooming.
