ODC: start with a circle

Squares and rectangles inside a circle (a hatbox lid) might not have worked all that well . . .

A lot of cardmakers have "moved on" to using more sophisticated tools, and I personally enjoy parchment craft . . . but rubber stamps offer a lot of creative options, and I have a decent collection of them. This is a small fraction of them.

ODC: through a glass darkly

I haven't found a place to display this little group of shells in this home, so they have sat in an ever-dustier small glass box, and are the perfect subject for this week's ODC challenge "through a glass darkly," the wording suggested by the King James Version of 1 Corinthians 13:11-13. Here is the passage in the NASB:

"When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Looking forward to that day of seeing Jesus Christ face to face, without the dusty veil of sin and sorrow, death and loss, misunderstandings, and all the rest of the things that make our vision dusty and foggy on this side of the glass.

CC: my favorite things

We have a lot of books in our home, but the most photogenic is probably my bookcase of children's books, which I have "decorated" with hand and finger puppets, a stuffed monkey in a small wooden rocking chair that happened to be the right size for him, a decorative horse my husband bought me, etc. A few of these books date back to my own childhood. Folio slipcased editions are on the top shelf where only an adult can reach them: three books of fairy tales and a boxed set of the Chronicles of Narnia. I hope that this bookcase becomes one of the favorite parts of Grandpa and Grandma's house in years ahead.

ODC: through a glass darkly

Stained glass is beautiful as decoration, and it allows light through. But if you want to see through it . . . not going to happen.

ODC: next big thing (reading to grandchildren . . . in this instance, from an alphabet book I created with my photos . . . shh, she hasn't seen it yet)--this is photographed off the screen for a more complete image of the pages, but the book has been printed.

I originally had "yellowlegs" as being more officially an animal's name, but ended up deciding my yellow warbler had better photos and was probably less confusing for a little one.

It has now been mailed to her (unfortunately during pandemic "lockdown" we haven't been able to see our family except each other). Her mother reports she really likes it.
