The pond was getting low in the back, and this snapping turtle wanted to be in a different spot.

This seems to be a mix of painted turtles and red-eared sliders. Unfortunately by the time they came out to bask, the sun was high in the sky and I couldn't get great lighting from any angle.

A red-eared slider hatchling and, if you look closely, a dragonfly larva ready to become and adult, in front of the turtle. This is far enough out in the pond I never saw the insect.
