This one is just yards from my back door, and it allowed me to move forward next to the creek to get some photos from the side. Muskrats are fairly good at tolerating humans (unless we're above them--but I was enough above this muskrat that I wasn't at all sure I'd get away with in effect moving closer to it).

I'm guessing this is a male muskrat with a female and young in the den. It took multiple trips to the bank to collect grass, and then went back into the water with a big load, swam across the pond, disappeared near the left bank (into its den), and then returned for another load.
