The Flickr Lounge: metallic
Here its antennae were out, but they were retracted in most of the shots I got. Not sure the precise species, but it's somewhere between a quarter and a third of an inch in length, and on a plant that was surrounded by dense vegetation. The photo doesn't do justice to the way his iridescence made him stand out.

An odd looking one among the flowers of the Queen Anne's lace. Apparently (formerly considered) a mordellid beetle (HT Herbert Polacek). Likely Hoshihananomia octopunctata.
