View large to see eye detail, something I've rarely managed to capture on a damselfly. It took several attempts with this species and several shots, but I got a front view of the species a year or two ago and figured I'd try it again.

When I'm specifically looking for insects, on a trail I've been hiking for four summers, it's helpful that I know where I've seen insects before. And this bridge found me a pretty damselfly about this time last year, so I checked it out. There were actually two or three flying around, but this one sat for me. I also found a caterpillar on it.
