After finding the small herd of young bucks I found a small herd of does and fawns coming back together. This fawn looks like one of last summer's youngsters, just a few months old, but he has small antlers. For now he's still with the "women and children," but he's on the edge and will soon be hanging out with the bucks.

Day 6/365

Even though it is only January, song sparrows and occasional cardinals are singing again. Here a song sparrow bursts into song a short distance from a male house finch.
