This fly must have been really, really chilly, because I took lots of photos of it from several angles, and usually that eventually makes even the most chilled insect decide it's in danger and it's time to flee. But it was quite a small fly and the lighting was fairly dim, and most of my shots weren't really in good focus.

I've tried without success to photograph these small flies on the jewelweed, and this time I simply held my camera low, pressed the shutter, and got the shot. Go figure! (The first shot didn't work, but the second did.)
