I've tried to photograph these earlier in the year, but they are small and they don't stay still. This one stayed on the outer flowers enough that it gave me quite a number of shots.

These beetles are obviously associated with the trout lily, as I see them on these lilies in this location every year (but not in other spots where I see trout lilies).
