The morning promised fog, and even though we didn't see any at home, I got up early and drove to the lake. It was exquisite, and got thicker as the sun came up. Here I decided to pan the camera across the whole lake. I ended up stopping before I got all the way to the right edge, because the mist was too thick to see anything. But the geese can be seen before getting all the way to the right.
Still photos will come next week.

The fog got deeper as the sun came up, rather than dissipating, so I decided I had time for a second stop on my morning field trip, and I drove to Yellowwood State Forest. I'd seen photos of it in morning fog, but had never been there to see the fog. It was exquisite, and I also photographed a lot of beautiful spiderwebs.

The chick with the stolen fish eats it while other chicks look on wistfully. Their mother is in the background, not intervening in such petty squabbles.

One chick alternated taking a bite or two with exercising its wings. It would soon move this fish to the edge of the nest where its siblings can't reach it.

It's interesting to watch the feathers of the one chick that isn't flapping its wings. Quite a bit of wind created here!
