The beautiful bungalo where I stayed. Great view, great bed, great food, helpful friendly staff and plenty to do n the surrounding area, what more could I ask for.

Chiang-Dao-New Years sky lanterns

On new years eve and the following night the locals released dozens on these sky lanterns into the night sky. It was amazing to watch. They are made out of rice paper and a small candel produces hot air which sends the lantern into the night. The kids had lots of fun.

Thailands third highest mountain at 2225m. Its possible to drive nearly up to top and camp, or you can do an organised two day trek up to the top and back.
