Nugget Point - New Zealand, South Island, 2023
Okay, let's elaborate on the image a bit... Obviously, this image is not a single shot. First of all, AI was not used here, except for the selection tool in Photoshop CC. The vertorama consists of 3 individual shots:
1 photo for the Milky Way
1 photo for the foreground (taken about a minute later)
1 photo for the moon (with proportions at a 1:1.2 ratio, original vs. blending)
I had considered removing the moon, but in my opinion, that wouldn't have done justice to the situation. How lucky (or how well-prepared for good photographers) does one have to be to capture the Milky Way just before sunrise with a rising moon (almost full moon) in a single image? Even though it's clear that blending was involved, for the overall concept of this photo, all elements had to find their place. This, of course, came at a price: it took nearly 2.5 hours to create the collage and make it look somewhat appealing and natural...
It also took me 4 months to find the motivation to work on the photo and tinker with it. I hope you like it as much as I do! Let me know what you think: blending, yay or nay?
