Family, friends and Colorado National Guard leaders welcome home about 50 Soldiers from Detachment 1, Company B, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment and Company D, Forward, 2-135th, at the Army Aviation Support Facility Feb. 27, 2020, on Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colorado. The Soldiers served in Afghanistan for a year-long mission in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. The Soldiers returned November 2019 from a mission where they conducted more than 1200 missions including 450 air assaults, 250 maintenance test flights and over 500 other missions which included battlefield circulation (transportation of personnel) and transport of over 500,000 pounds of equipment.
