The delince of the small Montana village of Comertown, founded in 1913, began over 100 years ago, not that it was ever much beyond a few buildings and a post office. The railroad coming through attracted homesteaders and farmers hoping to take advantage of the locality. But the land proved to be too dry for much more than ranching. Residents began moving away almost immediately. The post office closed in 1957. Today, one or two of the houses are occupied. The cemetery rests upon the hill beyond town. . . .
