Manual focussing with a Pentax mount sigma 300mm 2.8 - was trying to test if I could get this to work as a silent shooting extreme telephoto (600mm equivalent). Yes it is tricky but I was really surprised by the results - key was being able to keep the iso manageable on a micro 4/3 sensor

Another manual focus shot - FF Sigma 300 2.8, shot at 2.8 on a micro 4/3 G80 giving 600mm equivalent. Interesting that whilst the aperture is actually 5.6 in terms of pictoral equivalence (dof etc), it actually behaves like 2.8 in terms of exposure on first glance - no way would I get 200 ISO on FF with the same SS. I shot with FF at 500mm F5 and 1/800th ss and it resulted in ISO 640. Then you realise, equivalence relates to ISO also, except you have to square it - so in FF frame terms this shot would be 600mm F5.6 1/500 ss and ISO 800... boy this stuff gets complicated.
