Originally constructed in 1912, the Adams County Courthouse today is an agglomeration of a number of different additions with differing architectural styles. The oldest part of the courthouse, completed in 1914, was designed by architect Arthur Peabody. Additions were made to it in 1975 and 1997.
This structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
