W. R. Norton was the architect for this great former courthouse. It was built in 1905-06 and used until 1976 when the current Gila County Courthouse was erected. It today acts as the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Gila County is pronounced HEE-luh like the monster.
