Built in 1892, this Victorian structure served as the Troup County Jail until the 1930s, when a newer facility was built alongside the new courthouse. It was converted into the Chattahoochee Valley/LaGrange Art Museum in 2001.
It is a contributing property to the LaGrange Commercial Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
LaGrange is a charming town located to the southwest of Atlanta and to the north of Columbus in western Georgia. It serves as the seat of Troup County.
