This Richardsonian Romanesque courthouse was erected in 1894-96. It was designed by Yost & Packard, and built by T. B. Townsend. Whyte & Priest sculpted the stone faces and gargoyles. The impressive edifice was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, along with the nearby
1901 county jail.
