140,344 items
This antique boxcar from the Merci Train of 1949 is on display inside the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia. The museum stands at 2829 Cherokee Street NW.

It was one of 49 such cars sent to the United States following World War II from the French Republic to show France's gratitude for American aid, defense, and friendship during the two world wars. Each boxcar was filled with hundreds of gifts and sent to each of the 48 states that existed at that time, with the 49th boxcar split between the Territory of Hawaiʻi and the District of Columbia. Some of the gifts in the Georgia car are on display at the museum.
