The Tazewell County Courthouse was erected in 1874-75 using the Second Empire designs of architect W.G. Bottimore. It was expanded in 1914, and is a contributing property to the Tazewell Historic District. The district was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and was expanded in 2016.
