This structure, today used as the Duchesne Library and School Board Building, was built in the 1960s. It has since been replaced by an even more Modern (or Postmodern) courthouse located on the far northeast side of town.

Duchesne and its county are pronounced dew-SHAYN.

The Davis County Courthouse was originally built in 1890 in Romanesque Revival style in the small Salt Lake City suburb of Farmington. In 1929-32 it was remodeled to its current Classical Revival "Grecian" appearance. It has undergone enlargements and renovations in 1957-58, 1979, and finally in 1997.

This small stone building was erected in the town of Tooele in 1867 as a community building, social hall, and local government building. The belfry was added after 1874. By the 1870s it was used almost exclusively as the Tooele County Courthouse. In 1899 a new courthouse was built, and this structure became the Tooele City Hall. It was used as such until 1941. Today it is the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum.

The edifice was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
