This grand Second Empire house was erected near the coast of Texas in 1874-77. It was designed by Texas Revolution soldier and later cattle magnate, George Ware Fulton (the individual for whom Fulton, Texas was named). It was fully fitted with indoor plumbing, gas lighting, and ventilation. The structure served as the home of the Fulton Family until 1895. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and is one of the oldest buildings in Aransas County.
