Built in 1889, the Beaverhead County Courthouse is located at the end of Bannack Street in downtown Dillon.
The county's previous 1875 courthouse in the ghost town of Bannack is still standing. Bannack, Montana is located about 25 miles west of Dillon and Interstate 15 in the central part of the county.
Beaverhead County, at 5,543 square miles, is the largest county in the Treasure State.

Built in 1875 at a cost of $14,000, this structure was the original Beaverhead County Courthouse. After a close and venomous election in 1881, the Beaverhead County seat was ultimately moved to the more populous agriculture and freight-transporting center of Dillon.
Bannack was founded in 1862 and named for the local Bannock Indian tribe. It briefly served as the capital city of the newly created Montana Territory in 1864, until the capital was moved to Virginia City. The last residents of the community moved out in the 1970s. The site of the town is today Bannack State Park and National Historic Landmark.

Built at a cost of $150,000, this stone courthouse was designed by Billings architect J. G. Link in 1937. The Art Deco building was constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). It is a contributing property to the Hardin Commercial Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
Big Horn County is home to the Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument and the largest part of the Crow Indian Reservation.

The 1936 Broadwater County Courthouse in Townsend was designed by architects R. C. Hugenin and Norman B. DeKay in Art Deco style. The WPA aided in its construction.
Broadwater County is located to the southeast of Helena where the geography is dominated by the Big Belt Mountains and the Missouri River Valley. It's a beautiful part of the Treasure State.
