Austin is located in southern Lander County along U.S. Route 50 (dubbed the Loneliest Road in America) half way between Reno and Ely. For the majority of its history it was the county seat of Lander County until that seat was moved to Battle Mountain in 1979. It still has the county's 1871 courthouse.

Boulder City is located right outside of Hoover Dam. It's a very nice clean little town, and a million times better than nasty old Las Vegas.
