Located at 285 West Main Street, this commercial structure features elements manufactured by the Mesker Bros. Iron Works of Saint Louis. Built ca. 1910, it is a contributing property to the Piggott Commercial Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The structure is today owned by Jones Furniture.

The Sheeks House stands at 502 Market Street. Built in 1872 by E. Foster Brown, the residence was sold in 1878 to Edward V. Sheeks, one of Corning's first significant businessmen. The Victorian structure with Classical Revival elements was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Corning is located in northeastern Arkansas, serving as one of the two county seats of Clay County (the other being Piggott).

This cornerstone was incorporated into the exterior of the 1966 courthouse in Piggott.

This structure was constructed in 1966, the same year that the other Clay County Courthouse was built in Piggott in a nearly identical layout. They were each designed by the firm of Donnellan and Porterfield using the New Formalism style of Modern architecture. Both courthouses were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
Clay County is one of ten Arkansas counties with two county seats.
